Glad to see someone remember the Bike during the drum solo! I agree that it was so loud that it felt like my whole body was going to explode.
I think that they also set off the homemade hot air balloons at this show - very cool.

Listen to the drums and you can hear the motorcycle that was up on stage. One of the Hells Angels brought his bike on stage and he wiped it with a cloth and reved the engine. You can hear it on this recording but it doesn't seem as loud as it did in person. In the theater the vibrations shook the whole place.

Even the Walker source. Sorry, Joanie, Paul and Charlie. I blame Healy, or more properly the type of venue that forced him to do these really thin early '80s mixes, not you.

What a nice way to end the first Greek Theater run. While this show may not live up to the mon ster the previous day, it is a very nice show. The Jack Straw > Bertha opening was very nice, To Lay Me Down is a top ten version as well. passenger, which was a standard 1st set tune at the time just ripped (i never understood why this song was retired after the 1981 new years run) and the Let it grow > Might As well is epic. Set 2 is long and very well played. it wasn't often that you saw 7 songs before drums, but we did on this night, including the newly introduced Never Trust A Woman. The Cold Rain> Samson opener was a sig n of things to come, and it was nice to see Roses in the 2nd set. As mentioned before, jerry totally forgot the lyrics out of the jam in Terrapin, and after stumbling three times, Bobby had to go oveer and whisper the lyrics in his ear, Otherwise this is a solid Terrapin. After Drums is very nice to with a great wheel and GDTRFB. This is one of the only 3 show runs of the 79-86 period that I can recall that we did not hear Black Peter or Stella Blue, in the case of BP it was a nice change as it seemed at that time that they were playing it at least every 3rd show if not more. The encore of Satisfaction/Brokedown was a great way to end a jamming weekend. I give this a 4 star rating because while the show itself desaerves 5, the sound to me is a little tinny, and the post drums is missing.

when I talked to him after this show near his car in the south side parking lot, about forgeting the words so bad that Weir had to whisper them in his ear after Terrapin's first instrumental. Altough I was complimenting him on some aspects of the previous show.
